| I always wanted to play a music instrument. I purchased a second hand guitar in high school and used to pretended playing guitar. I kept the guitar during my college years and pro football career. I didn't take playing the guitar seriously until my pro football career was over. Oakland California I attended Laney Junior College where I took music classes and art and design classes. I practiced playing guitar a great deal and took many guitar lessons. My friend and musician Bert Monroe taught me to read sheet music. This is how we learned to play songs we liked, we purchased the sheet music. Bert could play saxophone and flute very well. I created a music studio at my house and invited all my musicians friends to play music with me. As time went by and I improved my guitar playing skills, I purchased a better instrument (Fender Stratacaster). I joined a group of musicians and friends and begin playing at parties and jam sessions at clubs throughout the Bay Area. As time passed I learned to play guitar and sing vocals at the same time. "Imagine as a teenager you witness the Birth Of Rock and Roll, Rhythm and Blues, Motown Music, American Bandstand and Soul Train and Classic Cars". I absorbed all of this great music era in Ohio. When you purchase my CD's listen closely you will hear some of this great musical era come out in my playing guitar and singing. I was inspired to play guitar by Jimi Hendrix, BB King, Albert King and Santana. |
