Footprints In Art"

Every since I was a child I was able to draw pictures. I would draw the characters from the funny pages and cartoons from the Walt Disney comic books. It was a god gifted talent to draw. I excelled in art and design classes in high school. I often had my art projects displayed in the hallway of the high school. At the same time my sports career was growing more popular. I put my art career on hold. When I went to Purdue University on an athletic scholarship, I minored in art and design courses. In 1965 after my pro football career was over I then pursued my art career hole heartedly. To sharpen my skills in art I attented Laney Jr. College in Oakland, California. I entered art contests for AT&T, Digital TV Program Guide. I won $500.00 in that contest. Later I begin to work as a graphic artist with D.O.E. (Department of Energy) as a private contractor for three years. I entered Safety Poster Contest for the Department For Defense. I won 1st place in several of the contest in Tracy, California. As I improved my artwork I began to sell collages, portraits, company logos, flyers and brochures. I discovered that producing great artwork and music became good Therapy for me, after playing such a violent sport such as football for all those years. My influence in art was Norman Rockwell, Michael Angelo, and Leonardo Devinci. I want to give special thanks to Wale from Nigeria for his friendship.

I want to dedicate this website to Tom and Hattie Payton and Family, Alfred Longmire, Myrtle Phifer and Bobby Kennedy. R.I.P.
